Stand

This is a poster I made after listening to one of my favorite REM songs 'Stand'

So my take on the song was I wanted to include a compass as the song keeps changing the direction of life. And for the cities (or points) I made out the main phrase of the song, "Stand in the place where you are".

Here is the song if you haven't heard it before:

IQ - EV

I got bored one evening and decided to photoshop Kermit into a picture with a car and use the phrase, "Its not easy being green." Also note the car is a regular Scion IQ in white. Yes white.

Where's the Manual?

Well I got inspired what a friend of mine was saying today. They were commenting on sporks about how you can never figure out how to use them properly. As it is too small to be used for soup and the prongs are too short and flimsy to be used as a fork. So how do you use it and what for?

Wind Power

Well I got another inspiration from some of my music. This time by Thomas Dolby and the song Windpower. So here is the image I made from the song.

I made another version of this image with a different colored font because I didn't really like how the above one came out.

Also here is what the song is like if you have never heard it.

Rocket Science?

Well I have been hearing the phrase, "This isn't rocket science" very often lately. So it inspired me to make a poster asking "How hard could it be?" So I actually did a little looking into rocket science and found some good information on the equations. Ideal Rocket Equation - Wikipedia It turns out rocket science actually isn't all that hard, it is just a lot of variables. But anyways I used some of the equations from the link and threw them into the image, so yes those are real equations.

Start Fresh

This poster I did as more of a constructive phrase. I used the term Start Fresh as I tend to here it a lot and I have always pictured it like this. Brief summary of the picture: You got two B-17 Bombers dropping each an Atom bomb on the city below. The point of this is that if forces you to start from a clean slate, everything gets wiped away and you must rebuild from the beginning. (Though the likelihood of surviving the blast is impossible. but you may travel from far distances to rebuild here.)

Christmas is coming up

Well seeing Christmas is right around the corner and seeing I had some free time I decided it was time to make my Christmas avatar for various sites. So here is tipsy Santa after dropping off presents. Original art is from Derek Yaniger's vector art programs and was colorized & combined by myself.

The Big Apple

This is an image I decided to create after doing my Beat City (LA) one. I figured I'd do the next biggest US city, so New York, New York. Deviantart Link

Beat City

Well the other day I was listening to one of my favorite songs. Beat City by The Flowerpot Men (also featured in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, which is also my favorite movie.) Anyways I thought I'd do a slight spin on the song and recreate LA as beat city. The main building is the Capitol Records Building. Deviantart Link

Little Guppies

Well, I was scrolling through my pictures trying to find a good one to edit. Came across this blue 72 Honda Z600 that I took a picture of at JCCS in 2011. It seemed like it would be a cool image to edit. Once I finished doing the color accents I just couldn't stop. So I decided to turn the whole car green. (Note the green I used is the true 600 green that Honda used not just a random green.) Anyways. Even after that I couldn't stop so I started tweaking little things here and there, you might pick up on them in one of the images below.

The Perfect Thanksgiving Dinner

I figure thanksgiving is just around the corner so I should do a thanksgiving art piece. This is another B&W image from Derek Yaniger's vector art program. I took and colorized it and then "aged" it using his machine wash program.

Enjoy and dig in.

Political Plaque

This was a project I had to do for history. I was told to create a commemorative plaque for one of the 2012-13 presidential candidates. I really am not a political person and rather would choose none of them but I had to do this project and I chose the candidate that I thought was most likely to win. And below is the image I came up with. Deviantart Link

Crispity Crunchies Box

Well I finished the box today. I took a picture of it. Sorry it isn't the greatest as I used my lame cell phone. Also doesn't help the printer was running low on ink.

Finished box is 3 x 5 x 1.5 inches. Wasn't suppose to be big but it does seem small.

Crispity Crunchies Anyone?

Right now I'm working on a graphic arts project were I have to design my own box. It could be any box most people decide to do cereal boxes though. But with nothing else popping into my head at the moment I decided to join the crowd and make a cereal box. So I started messing around with Derek Yaniger's Snappy Hour Vector Art program. And these are the results that came out of it.

I decided to call the cereal Crispity Crunchies because in an episode of Spongebob; I remember Patrick was running around yelling "crunchy munchies" or something like that. So I decided to do a parody of that. The next thing was calling the brand name Yaniger's. I couldn't think of what to use so I decided to use Derek's last name as it sounded fitting and I needed some way to pay tribute for using his graphics. As for the nutrition label I always laugh at and question things when it comes to the ingredients list. So I decided to try to make it as goofy and whacky as I possibly could. You probably did notice the back panel, how it has an ad for a Gryo hook & ladder. I actually found that image off an old Kellogg's Captin' Crunch box and cleaned up the image and decided to use it as it fit the style I was trying to achieve.

Anyways, this is just the graphics portion of the project. When I get it all printed out and assembled I'll be sure to take a few pictures and upload them.

Shooting for the Moon

I heard a song on the radio the other night. I can't remember the song but it inspired me to make this.
